SUMMARY OF ACHIEVEMENTS UP TO NOVEMBER 2007

• trained 700 engineers from industry on our electronic design modules
• half from SMEs and half from international companies
• over 300 continuing their studies towards postgraduate qualifications such as MScat one of the partner universities
• national need for retraining engineers identified in recent EIGT and SEMTA reports
• 44 modules so far covering digital design, analogue design, software, processors, DSP, communications, biometrics and security.
• modules developed/delivered by eleven leading universities with advice on relevance/content from top industrialists
• many modules distance learning based - engineers study modules at home in their own time with access to high quality design software
• CEESI achieving its aims of up-skilling engineers from industry in this important field
• Seeking funding after September 2009 from EPSRC
