Electronics courses and traing in electronics at CEESI

University of Bolton

The university runs two MSc programmes, both of which are taught entirely by distance learning over the internet. They are intended for electronics design engineers and technologists who want to continue their professional development without interrupting their careers.

The MSc Advanced Microelectronics develops competence in the use of industry standard EDA tools for designing ASICs. Digital, analogue and mixed signal design methods are included.

The MSc Electronic Product Development takes a wider view. Today's design teams need to be multi-disciplinary because everything interacts. Operating speeds, the level of integration and the complexity of fabrication technologies mean that nothing can be treated in isolation so the traditional way of passing a design from one team to another is no longer appropriate. As electronic products have become smaller, faster and more powerful, the manufacturing processes have become increasingly complex and important at the design stage.
