University of Manchester

The University of Manchester, has been created by bringing together The Victoria University of Manchester and UMIST, two of Britain's most distinguished universities. The new institution is the largest single-site university in the UK.

The School of Computer Science was the first of its kind in the UK and has been an internationally recognised centre of excellence ever since. It is in the top six in the UK for research (5* RAE) and has been at the forefront of new developments for over 50 years, from the building the world's first stored programme computer in 1948 to creating the software for the Oscar winning film Cold Mountain.

All the course units available are e-learning. To qualify for a University of Manchester degree, you must undertake at least two of the modules offered by Manchester. Additional modules can be chosen from those offered by the other institutions in the CEESI collaboration.
