Electronics courses and traing in electronics at CEESI

Qualifications

Awards Available
Each university will specify the minimum number of modules that must be studied at that university to be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma, typically a third of them.

The MSc Project will always be supervised by the university that makes the award. The choice of titles currently available through CEESI Training, and the awarding university in each case, is shown below.

Qualifications
The table below lists the titles of postgraduate awards covered by the CEESI Training programme, together with the name of the partner institution responsible.

Title of Postgraduate Qualification (PgDip or MSc) Awarding Institution (CEESI Training Partner)
University of Bolton
Personal, Mobile and Satellite Communications
Radio Frequency Communications Engineering
Wireless Sensor Networks

(PgCert also available)
University of Bradford
Information Security and Biometrics University of Kent
System Level Integration Institute for System Level Integration
Low Power Systems Integration
(PgCert also available)
The University of Manchester

University of Surrey

The Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) requires passes in modules to the value of 120 credits. The Master of Science (MSc) award has similar requirements but in addition it involves completing a substantial project and writing up the investigation and implementation aspects in a formal dissertation. The MSc normally takes a minimum of three years by part time study and is rated at 180 credits. Some partner institutions award a Postgraduate Certificate (PgCert) for people who want to stop early with passes in modules to the value of 60 credits.

It is not essential to register for a qualification from the outset. Once a CEESI Training module has been completed successfully the credits earned can be counted towards a postgraduate qualification for up to a few years.
